I told my baby sister that I wanted to quit my job and travel. She called me up a few months later to ask if that was still the plan, because it was hers with a December start. Come December, I wasn’t quite ready to quit my job just yet, but I decided to accompany her to kick off her trip. The adventure that ensued inspired me to jump start my plan as well.
Cities visited: Bangkok, Phuket, Chiang Mai, Chengdu (China)
Dates: Dec. 26 – Jan. 9
I won’t go into too much detail about what all I did on this trip; I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves. What I do want to note is that this trip was massively inspirational. My sister was using this as her starting point for her own extended sabbatical and we met so many beautiful people who were doing something similar.
On this trip, I felt happy and carefree. A huge part of that had to do with the fact that my sister had taken care of most of the planning, the beautiful country, the wonderful food, and the amazing people that we encountered. However, my primary takeaway from this trip was the value of living in the moment and going with the flow.
